How fair play works

On most sites you have to trust that a game of chance is fair. On TikTikLuck you can check it. This guide explains how, in plain words.

Two numbers make every result

Every luck round is decided by two random numbers. One comes from our server and one comes from your own browser. The result is worked out from both together, so neither we nor you can pick it alone.

Before you play, the server shows you a fingerprint of its number: a SHA-256 hash, a long string of letters and digits. A fingerprint can't be turned back into the number, but any change to the number would change the fingerprint. So the server is locked in before it knows your browser's number.

Checking a round

For invented games, the proof panel has “Re-run the draw here”, which checks the numbers the same way.

  1. Play a round on any luck game.
  2. After it ends, tap “Certified fair” on the game.
  3. The server's number for that round is now shown. Your browser checks that it matches the fingerprint you saw before you played.
  4. Tap “Re-simulate in your browser”. Your phone replays the whole round from the two numbers and shows you the same result.

Tested before it goes live

Before any luck game goes live, our servers play it thousands of times and count how often each result comes up. What each result pays is set from those counts, so that on average a game pays back about 96 Luck Points for every 100 played. A maker can set this anywhere from 90% to 99%, and it's shown on the game.

Each game's page lists its results, how often each one came up in testing, and what it pays.

After launch, payouts are fine-tuned from real plays to stay at that target. If they change while you have a game open, your play is stopped before any Luck Points are taken, and you see the new numbers first.

Skill games are checked too

In a skill game, your phone sends your moves, not your score. The server replays the run from those moves, with a starting setup it chose, and keeps the score it gets. Impossible scores and runs faster than the game allows are turned down.

What fair doesn't mean

Fair means nobody can choose or change the result. It doesn't mean you'll come out ahead: any single round can go either way, and over many rounds a luck game pays back a little less than is played. That's why everything here uses Luck Points, which are free and have no cash value.
